Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink felt there was only one winner as the brewers ran out 2-0 against struggling Doncaster.
Burton aimed to make it two wins from two for the week as Rovers visited with only three wins all season.
The brewers dominated the first half but couldn’t quite make it happen.
The dutchman felt the final ball came but his side didn’t put them away.
Hasselbaink said: “the final ball came, we made opportunities we just didn’t put them away, and that is where we need to be a little bit more lethal.
“We do this, and we will win the game comfortably” he added.
Burton went ahead in the second half as Tom O’Connor scored directly from a free-kick before Daniel Jebbison scored a backheel to settle the game.
The former Chelsea player praised O’Connor’s deliveries this season as he scored his third set piece of the season.
He said: “The deliveries are good; he makes them defend and you then ask them questions.
“If you don’t ball that ball in goals won’t happen and he gives us that opportunity to create something”.
It was also a third goal this week for Sheffield United loanee Daniel Jebbison who impressed Hasselbaink with his overall play as well as the goal.
Jimmy Floyd said: “He’s full of confidence at the moment, he’s doing the right things, I was more impressed with his overall play”
He added: “He was putting their defense in trouble all game which was just as impressive as the goal”
Burton had put a terrible five-game losing run with an important six points this week and the Brewers boss says he is always wanting his side to perform.
The Dutchman said: “You always want to perform, and the performances this week have been really good and that’s what you want when you’re in a bad spell.
You always want to come out fighting, you want to see fighting spirit and I feel the last two matches we have done that.”
