Sky Bet League one has seen a significant increase in big gates, mainly thanks to the sheer number of former Premier League clubs rebuilding, but who averages the most at home this season?

It is no surprise who sits at the top and bottom of the table, they both come from the midlands, with Derby County top, and Burton Albion comfortable at the foot.

Derby County has an average 26,644, narrowly edging out Lancashire side Bolton Wanderers, who have a better percentage of ground filled, with their capacity at 28,000, while the Rams have a capacity of over 33,000.

The top ten are as you would expect, but there are a couple of surprise names creeping up. Newley promoted Carlisle United and Leyton Orient have both seen attendance spikes on their return to League One after several years out. The Cumbrians have averaged 8,427, while Orients Brisbane Road has seen a marginally smaller gate of 8,378.

Down the bottom are several League One’s so called ‘smaller clubs’. Burton Albion and Fleetwood Town sit 23rd and 24th respectively. Both averaging below 4,000.

A shock name down the bottom is of Wycombe Wanderers, who have been a successful club in recent years, but a poor campaign so far may be the cause of the poor average of 4,800.
