Danny Johnson had ended a 5-league game goal drought against Northampton by scoring the winner. The hot hitting striker made it to in to as he way played in by Douglas James-Taylor to coolly round Wimbledon keeper Nik Tzanev and slot home his 10th goal of the season.
The Saddlers took control of most of the second half after retaking the lead and had a few chances to finish the game off. Douglas James-Taylor was a threat to the wombles defense all game and was played through by Liam Kinsella but put his effort way off target.
With six minutes to go, Michael Flynn took off the man of the moment Danny Johnson to a standing ovation from the Poundland Bescot Stadium faithful, he was replaced by Tom Knowles.
Walsall faced little threat from Jonnie Jacksons side throughout the second half, and deep into the 6 minutes of added time, a throw in taken quickly by Manny Monthe found the feet of Isaac Hutchinson who swept the ball low and hard across the box for substitute Tom Knowles to put the icing on the cake and give The Saddlers back-to-back wins League Two for the second time this season.
